Duncan Hines

Duncan Hines is not just a name, he was an actual person. Duncan Hines worked for many years as a traveling salesman and ate in many awful restaurants. After a time he started building a list of good restaurants and hotels and eventually published a series of successful guidebooks.

But Duncan Hines is known today mostly for cake mixes. Hines actually had nothing to do with the mixes except selling his name to the company.
