Some of the most attractive advertising of the first half of the 20th century was on fruit crate labels . The fruit was shipped in large wooden crates and growers cooperatives quickly realized that the sides of the crate were prime advertising territory. 1964 frozen pizza ad

This is surely one of the earliest frozen pizzas on the market and really it doesn't look that appetizing, it took a long time for manufacturers to get frozen pizza right.

Miss Rheingold 1959 Christmas ad

Starting in 1940 and continuing up into the 1960's, Rheingold beer sponsored a Miss Rheingold contest with the winners appearing in that year's advertisements. This was a very successful ad campaign and this Christmas magazine ad features 1959's Miss Rheingold.

Jello is the most popular gelatin mix on the market but it has always had competition as this magazine ad demonstrates, it features star Billie Burke and is from early 1941.
